Our first podcast of the school year is up on our YouTube channel!

It's a very short piece on how two of our students balance school, social lives and their after-school jobs. Hosts are Savanna Cleckner and Lilly Parker; guests are Luis Martinez and Blake Reed. Production Manager Max Burger was assisted with video editing, filming and engineering by Deon Danner and Isaac Parsell-Miller. The podcast was based on an idea submitted by Madison Farrell and Savanna Cleckner.

Mr. Kloosterman's World Lit class made masks in preparation for reading Sophocles' famous play Antigone! The ancient Greeks used masks in their plays, but our students will have the option of wearing their creations as we read through the epic tragedy.

Due to a mechanical issue with one of our buses, we will only be able to run 3 buses to transport students home this afternoon. We appreciate your patience as drop off times will be off their typical schedule. It is likely that we will need to continue with a 3-bus route until Friday afternoon. Drivers will be making contact with each family tonight to communicate estimated times for morning pick-up tomorrow. We will keep you posted as we receive updates on the mechanical issue.

Mrs. Verde's class has enjoyed the "Adventures of Skelly Jr." around our school. Each day, students come to school, and Skelly is up to something new! Last week students found Skelly while taking their photos on Friday.

Yesterday, our students had the powerful opportunity to hear from Craig Scott, a survivor of the Columbine school shooting. Craig shared his personal story and the incredible legacy of his sister, Rachel Joy Scott, whose dream was to create a chain reaction of kindness and compassion.

Her message lives on through Rachel’s Challenge, inspiring students across the country — including ours — to choose empathy, courage, and connection every day.
