With the new quarter, English classes are starting new texts and genres! Now in 9th grade English, we are reading Isaac Asimov's "The Life and Times of Multivac," while in 10th grade we've begun looking at Japanese literature, starting with Kazuo Koike's "Lone Wolf and Cub." 11th grade has gone on to look at the Victorian period in British literature, and having read a selection from Charles Dickens' "Hard Times", will next be going through Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's: "The Adventure of the Speckled Band" and later Robert Louis Stevenson's "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde." Finally, in 12th grade English, students have begun reading pieces from the Revolutionary period, reading authors like Franklin, Adams, Jefferson, Paine, and Wheatley.
